"Handmade" is a generative program based on video sequences shot in the Hermès workshops: images of gestures and materials are randomly selected by the program, then mixed and processed in 3 dimensions to give rise to new forms that evoke sensations (particularly touch), but also and above all the magical process of handcrafting, where the energy of the gesture embraces and transforms the material.
In the world of electronic images, there is a raw material that has the same status as leather for a leatherworker: "mesh". The mesh is a set of points positioned in relation to one another in a virtual three-dimensional space, and all digital imaging is based on this material, which is deformed, cut and assembled. The inspiration here comes from the proximity of the relationship between "mesh" for the computer designer on the one hand, and "leather" for the leather designer on the other.
